Katie Couric signs deal with ABC: Syndicated talk show to launch in September


It's official. Katie Couric is joining the ABC family. Not only will the former CBS "Evening News" host and "Today" co-host helm her own syndicated talk show for the network, she'll also contribute to ABC News programming and produce content exclusively for a weekly online interview series.In a press release, ABC announced that Couric had signed a "multi-year, multi-platform" agreement with the network. While Couric's talk show won't debut until September, she'll begin contributing to ABC News programming over the summer."[Couric] will anchor specials, contribute interviews, participate in special events coverage and bring her many talents to bear on some of the most important and interesting stories of the day," read the release.She'll also be reunited with Jeff Zucker, her one-time "Today" show producer who is credited with helping her career take-off.
