Suits: "Pilot" Review

If TNT's Franklin & Bash represents one extreme end of the "From the Hip" buddy-lawyer genre, then USA's new series Suits is the other. Instead of featuring two raucous rebels playing loose with the law and ruffling the feathers of the "suits" in their prestigious law firm, Suits gives us, well, just the "suits." They'd have you believe that their lead duo of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross (Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams) are charismatically mis-matched, but the truth really is that one's a total a-hole and one isn't. Oh, and one's taller than the other. Beyond that, there's not much warmth or charm to this series, which tends to focus on the fast-talking bravado of Harvey and how good he looks when he unleashes a barrage of contrived magnetism on a host of clients, co-workers and higher-ups.  Read More...
