‘America’s Got Talent,’ Vegas Auditions, Night Two: TV Recap

Following Tuesday’s final hour of auditions, "America’s Got Talent" spent two hours showcasing the performances of acts the judges branded their favorites. On Wednesday, the also-rans got their time in the spotlight, hoping to win one of the semi-final spots that would earn them a ticket to Hollywood. Surprisingly, the balance between those that continued on to Tinseltown and those who went home was about as even as with the "preferred" performers, despite the fact that their respective talents were decidedly more… unusual.

The magicians were the first to compete. While a couple of the performers offered only reheated routines featuring magic boxes and hand gestures that showed there truly was nothing up their sleeves, Landon Swank made a box levitate before opening it to reveal his assistant-cum-girlfriend, which even his competitors confessed they’d never seen before. Meanwhile, another magician stumbled through his routine, which looked a little bit like "Jersey Shore Presents: The Ed Hardy Magic Extravaganza," but was nevertheless voted on through to Hollywood alongside Swank.
