'True Blood,' Season 4, Episode 3, 'If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin'?': TV Recap. This episode goes to Sookie and her classic one-liners. We pick up with Sookie not understanding what’s up with Eric who has lost his swagger on the side of the road and is looking like a scared Swedish kid. God bless him. He tells Sookie she smells sweet like honey. When he leans in for a sniff (or a bite) she freaks out and tries to get away. But that yellow clunker can’t outrun Eric Northman, even if he is looking more doe-eyed than usual. After those delicious credits, Sookie is fleeing in the woods when suddenly she gets up some nerve and breaks Eric’s nose. Who knew fairies could pack such a punch? Eric doesn’t know who he is but he remembers Marnie Stonebrook and her cold eyes "emptying me." Pretty soon all the things we love about Eric (except for his abs) were "taken from me."
