FALLING SKIES “Silent Kill” Review

FALLING SKIES "Silent Kill" Season 1, Episode 5 – Once again, I was able to get my hands on an advance screening of this week’s episode of Falling Skies. As it turns out, "Silent Kill" is probably my favorite episode thus far. There are so many specific details that I would love to chat about, but since the episode doesn’t air until later tonight, I’ll keep my lips sealed.

Last week, I was concerned that Falling Skies would be falling into a repetitive narrative, but this week broke all of the patterns that I had expected the show to follow. Although there was still an important mission in this episode, more time was spent cultivating our main characters in ways we haven’t seen before. They became more than experienced survivors, captivating us with their tragic back stories and became characters existing in the present, evolving in real time with every new development. While some scenes are heartbreaking to watch, this episode renewed my interest in many of the characters and tested some of my preconceived notions about the type of people they were. Read More...
