Well, there you have it. Series 6 of Doctor Who is officially in the can. Filming wrapped on the final episode of the season Monday, and BBC's officialDoctor Who website posted a spoiler-free commentary on the final day of shooting. Naturally, details were vague.
Matt Smith was strangely the first of the three main cast members to finish filming, leaving Karen Gillan (Amy) and Arthur Darvill (Rory) to finish the shoot by themselves. Strangely enough, though, Gillan and Darvill didn't finish at the same time; the final moment of filming was occupied solely by Gillan, though filming for her last bit only lasted ten minutes. If the shoot filmed the episode chronologically, we could be looking at a very different ending than the one we saw at the end of series 5 (which saw the Doctor, Amy, and Rory all gleefully flying away in the TARDIS).
Gillan herself mentioned the sadness that accompanied the last day. "It's quite sad to be saying goodbye to the boys, but we'll be reunited again very soon!" she shared, giving hope that series 6 won't be the last for Amy and Rory. Read More...
