‘Burn Notice’ Season 5, Episode 5, ‘Square One’: TV Recap

Michael Westen has been framed for the murder of Max, his CIA agency contact and friend, well, kind of. In the last episode Michael covered his tracks, which means he also covered the tracks of his killer. But he is still in possession of the murder weapon. So Sam and Fiona build a cinder block platform in Michael’s driveway to melt down the gun. As it disintegrates, Jesse walks in, questioning if this is the correct course of action.

With the gun gone, Michael heads to Max’s former office — and the scene of the crime — to speak with Agent Pierce, a "CIA Bloodhound" and Michael’s new Max. She sets up the scenario of Max’s death, volunteering Michael to be the killer and divulges to him that she’s found rope fibers on the roof. She also compares herself to her bulldog. Weird.
