'Breaking Bad,' Season 4, Episode 2, 'Thirty-Eight Snub': TV Recap. The keyword for last night’s episode of "Breaking Bad," “Thirty-Eight Snub”, is “frustration”. All of our players are frustrated by their current predicaments, and deal with added obstacles thrown in their paths. We open on Walt, in the middle of buying a gun from a black-market dealer, the kind who has pieces with the serial numbers filed off (and thus charges five times more than a legitimate gun shop does). Even though Walt says he wants the gun “for defense”, the dealer senses that Walt’s intentions are the opposite. Sure enough, Walt is practicing his quick draw in his apartment, the assassination of one Gus Kring on his mind…
