Futurama: "Yo Leela Leela" Review

I know it had aliens and the Orphanarium and appearances from and the Slurm Queen, but "Yo Leela Leela" didn't really feel like a Futurama episode. Perhaps it was because there was little science involved with this fiction. Perhaps it was the emphasis on kid show jokes. Or perhaps it was because Leelaled episodes never really grab me. Whatever the reason, Thursday's episode left me wanting. 

Even the set up felt a little off. When Leela arrived at the Orphanarium for "Public Domain Story Time," it felt like a perfect opening for an "Anthology of Interest." Instead, Leela just couldn't tell a decent story. Of course, the Orphanarium is always good for a laugh or two. Noting the lack of books, the director said that sometimes you have to choose between eating and reading: "So they ate the books." I also loved the kids' reactions to Leela's terrible attempt at telling an original story. Best was Sally's response to Leela after she said she'd come back with a better story.
