Wolverine Anime: "Omega Red" Review

The words "rage fest" accurately describe this episode. Omega Red is a pretty angry guy, and Logan isn't exactly known for his calm demeanor either. Combine the two, and you've got a recipe for a lot of yelling, grunting, and groaning. But mixed in there is a decent story with the first signs of some actual character development. 

The episode is action packed from the beginning, which is good. But it's the half-assed, jump cut, full-screen pan, motion blur kind of action this series has specialized in. It lacks both style and substance, and makes what should be an interesting and epic fight rather boring. Given Japan's penchant for "creative" use of tentacles/tendrils in animation, you'd think we would have gotten something more entertaining here.  Read more...
