MTV VMAs 2011: Tony Bennett and more honor Amy Winehouse


Amy Winehouse tragically passed away last month at the young age of 27. At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, her friend Russell Brand was on hand to introduce the tribute to Amy.Brand says of Winehouse, "First time I met her, she was kind of a daft, dopey person just wandering around. A little bit crazy ... the first time, though, I heard Amy Winehouse sing, I thought ... what is this incredible sound, like this timeless sound ... the kind of voice Billie Holiday sung with, the kind of voice Elle Fitzgerald sung with. And I turn into the arena and I see Amy Winehouse singing."He went on to also remark on her struggles with alcohol and drug addiction.
