‘America’s Got Talent,’ Week 14, Night 1: TV Recap

On Week Two of the semifinals, "America’s Got Talent" offered up a lot of first-tier acts giving what the judges seemed to think were second- or third-tier performances. Nick Cannon, lowered over the stage by a harness in order to protect the carefully arranged set design for the first act, introduced judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel, whose enthusiasm appeared to wane by the end of the two-hour episode.

First up with Kinetic King, rescued from obscurity by Morgan after being dismissed in the weeks prior due to a routine which was quite frankly catastrophically unsuccessful. This time, his Rube Goldberg-like stage show went off without a hitch, spraying popsicle sticks in all directions as the audience and judges looked on from behind protective goggles. Morgan suggested that the performance "wasn’t as spectacular, but it was faster so it was easy on the eye," while Osbourne called it "fabulous." Read More....
