Good News – Bad News: THE LYING GAME Extended & THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING Canceled

In a move that, regretfully, isn’t a surprise to those who closely follow TV ratings, the folks at Deadline, are reporting that ABC Family has canceled the freshman drama THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KINGafter only one season; and worse yet, one season that ended with some pretty intense cliffhangers.

As many may remember, the story of Chloe King was this: She is a teenager who discovers she has special cat-like powers, including nine lives, enhanced speed, strength, hearing, agility, night visionand the ability to extend her nails like cat claws, along with the ability to sense human emotions. She soon learns that she is a descendant of an ancient race called the Mai; and that she may be the key to protecting the race from human assassins, who have hunted them for thousands of years. this sucks. i wanted to see what happened next. this show is so suspenseflu and full of drama. when watching it for the first time, i had to watch the next one as soon as i finished the current episode. i was so caught up in the show that i stayed up all night watching it without even realizing it. i love this show. im glad that they're continuing the lying game, however. i love that show too. wish they weren't cancelling the nine lives of chloe king though.

NOOOOO!!! This show had a slow start but really started to show potential. I have to admit two minor issues. First of all, this type of show's typical range of audience lies in the preteen and teenage groupies, the category that I myself fall into. However, other shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, 90210, Gossip Girl among many others have created an inadvertent level of comparison for competition. For those seeking major intrigue, flashy action scenes and intense near-but-not-quite-adult-romance, this is not the show for you. "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," is a show that follows closely to the book, and has well portrayed that innocent and typical image of a newbie teenage girl dealing with fresh romance while juggling a unique conflict. Unfortunately, as a result of that "typical" quality this show adopts, it tends to border on the cliche; the second issue. Such as the placement of relationships and the way in which they developed: Mother Chloe and Chloe's relationship is too perfect, the Love Triangle of Doom etc. Thankfully most of the other cheesy clutter was cleaned up after a couple episodes. I admit the cast was soooo fantastic, best of all in acting but also looks (OMG the boys :P ).
Ironically, the last episode was one of the best in the series and such a cliffhanger!! If you are looking to watch something both of complex fantasy but unexpectedly simple and close to home, then this is the perfect show for you (just remember that awesomely short ending is actually the ending).
Though I haven't read the series in a billion years, I commend the writers and ABC family for doing an amazing job. Many movies/shows based on books these days are usually just terrible.
Btw great stunting :)

I am really very disappointed in ABC for canceling this show, I've read all the books and I always thought it would make a GREAT movie but then they turned it into a show and it was even better. I really wish they were reconsider they're decision. The actor that plays Chloe does an amazing job. Even if this show doesn't make a comeback I'd love to see her in something else!
Also I think the relationship between Chloe and her mother was amazing I hope to someday be that kind of mother :)

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. What the heck! l wanted to see what happens next. How can they finish with such a cliffhanger then cancel the show. I admit the show was pretty slow paced at the beginning but half way through the season l was hooked. This sucks big time.

How can you say the series follows closely to the book? I just read the book (3 books in one, really) and started the series the next day.. Ummmmm basically the whole plot was changed. I admit, the casting totally worked and the mom was perfect (maybe they spent too much time on her and not developing the actual plot). I feel like the way they set this up it should have been 30 episodes (10 per "book" you know?) and maybe developed it better. I know I lack scripting skills but I really don't understand a lot of the choices that were made in the storyline here. They took out completely some of the best characters. Mainly Kim!!one!!1 What happened to Sergei.. and the push and pull between Brian being in the Order.. and Alyec. All his cool and awesome scenes were changed to different characters. His kid-like daredevil charm and even just being a complete flirt was kind of lost. I mean, it's a show I'd watch because I'm a sucker for anything abc family, and wish they had some more episodes obviously; however, there's no way I'd say it follows the plot of the book except picking up some general points and maybe some specific scenes.
