A complicated episode this week!
Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson) begins the episode with a quick recap: he built a high-tech surveillance machine and hired Reese (Jim Caviezel) to help prevent violent crimes whenever a person’s “number is up.”
A grainy camera feed focuses on a man holding flowers as he enters an elevator. Just as the elevator doors are shutting, Reese catches it and slips inside, then creepily tells the man holding the flowers not to step out on his wife (there are also two bodyguard types behind them). Ah, so Reese knows he’s about to meet up with a mistress. We also learn that the two bodyguard types are actually hitmen hired by the man’s wife to kill him. The elevator doors are shut and we see two gunshots: one for each hitman. Doors open: Reese tells the man to call the police, and a good a divorce lawyer.
Reese is now on the streets of Manhattan wearing shades, calling Mr. Finch, who happens to be walking across the street. “We need to meet later,” Mr. Finch says. He reminds Reese that he’s in charge, so they’ll meet on his schedule. The machine has picked up another number. Read More...
