‘Modern Family,’ Season 3, Episode 6, ‘Go Bullfrogs’: TV Recap

We like you just the way you are. Isn’t that sweet? And may we never hear Gloria say the word "puberty" again.

Tonight, everyone comes to terms with their shortcomings. Gloria is a staid mother of three, and that’s ok. Cam and Mitchell are boring ol’ dads who can’t stay out past 9:30 p.m., and that’s ok. Manny is…well, Manny is short. And that’s ok!

First to Claire, who wants badly to get her freak on while Phil and Haley are out on a college tour of his alma mater, and Alex and Luke are at sleepovers. Claire wants to paartaaay, and naturally, she turns to her brother and Mitchell, who treat her to…a trip to a tame family restaurant with pot pie loyalty cards. This is not the crazy night filled with boozy dancing and second-hand smoke.

Enter one-third of the gay gang we haven’t seen since last season: Mitchell and Cam’s friend Longinus. Bless him. Cam and Mitchell fake the fabulous for awhile at a swanky party, at least until the clock strikes 9:30 p.m. and they remember they’re two dads pooped after a work week.
