THE SING-OFF “Top 6 Groups: Rocking Out and Goin’ Country” Review

THE SING-OFF "Top 6 Groups: Rocking Out and Goin’ Country" Season 3, Episode 8 – The remaining six groups in The Sing-Off competition faced off this week by bringing their own personalities to rock and country hits. Although most of the groups were less familiar with country music as a genre, it seemed like the rock portion of the competition presented more of a challenge.

As usual, Pentatonix put their own spin onto the genres they were challenged with tonight andalthough their interpretation of Steppenwolf’s "Born to Be Wild" didn’t feel at all like rock, it was still an incredible take on the classic. Avi and Kevin killed it with their opening sound effects and once again Shawn was compelled to comment on how big their sound was for such a small group.

Their country music entry, Sugarland’s "Stuck Like Glue" was worlds away from the country musicoriginal, but their creative dancehall twist yielded a surprisingly simple, and absolutely adorable result which put them in the number one spot at the end of the night.

Urban Method took the second spot in tonight’s elimination which actually surprised me. The judges loved both their performances, so maybe it was just the way the sound was coming out of my TV that made the background vocals sound like a sloppy mess. Read More...
