A GIFTED MAN "In Case of Exposure" Season 1 Episode 7 - The two cases this week aren’t what they first seem. Which is a shame because sometimes simplicity is the best way to go.

An NYFD chief comes to see Michael about headaches, but it’s actually his employee and family friend that he wants treated. One of New York’s few female firefighters, she seems to be suffering from PTSD after a fire which killed two teachers. But E-Mo isn’t convinced – and when she suddenly goes into status epilepticus both doctors decide she must be lying about something. They find St John’s wort among her belongings – this, combined with the anti-nausea medication she was taking, caused a reaction in the brain. She’s treated and will recover, but she’s distraught to learn she’s being put on desk duty for the foreseeable future. E-Mo tells her ‘better your job than your life’.

When a teenage boy comes into the clinic after having apparently fallen off his skateboard, Michaeldoesn’t buy his story. When the boy’s father comes to collect him, both Michael and Kate are sure that the boy’s father is beating him. The father turns his anger issues on a vending machine at the clinic and is arrested, but Michael suspects there’s more to his problems. Read More...
