COVERT AFFAIRS “Horse to Water” Review

COVERT AFFAIRS "Horse to Water" Season 2 Episode 14 - If there was an award for most boringCovert Affairs episode, this one would win hands down. The plot is pretty much this: a Russian asset dies after a traitorous ex-CIA analyst arranged it from his prison cell. The only person who could have passed on the order is his daughter, but it was actually a second daughter using information the first unwittingly took away from her visits to her father in the form of chess moves.

And that’s it. Of course, this was supposed to be another episode wherein Annie realises something about the relationship she has with her sister, but what she realises is left uncertain. Is it that she wants to reconnect with their estranged father? Or that she’s lucky to have a sister she can trust? Usually the real wrap up moment for these revelations is in the final scene, but instead that was a random scene where Annie asks and receives permission for shooting and bodyguard training, although she’s been in much more dangerous situations than the one in this episode, and the request scene felt like it was hastily tacked on (maybe to pave the way for Annie using a gun in a future episode).
