Pan Am Cancelled by ABC? One of the Stars Tweets Some News

It looks like Pan Am's fate has been decided, tweets one of the show's stars.  Karine Vanasse, who plays Pan Am stewardess Collette, recently tweeted that the show has been canceled by the network: "Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all!"

This is not surprising news.  Pan Am originally debuted to decent ratings of 11.06 million, but the show quickly lost favor with the audience.  In its second week the show only had 7.76 million viewers and the ratings continued to decrease as the weeks went on.  The series is now averaging between 5 and 6 million viewers per episode.  Those types of ratings are low for ABC, which has seen one of its other freshman shows - Once Upon a Time - pull in over 10 million viewers week after week.  Pan Am has been on the bubble for a while and it looks like the network will quietly be pulling the plug.  Unless, of course, the ratings improve drastically.  But the likelihood of that happening is rather slim.

A new episode of the show is set to air on December 4 and, according to Vanasse, another episode will air in the new year, but then the show could quietly end.  This would mark the demise of the second period show to debut this fall.  NBC pulled the plug on The Playboy Club weeks ago.
