‘Burn Notice,’ Season 5, Episode 17, ‘Acceptable Loss’: TV Recap

This week, ‘Burn Notice’ served up surprising twists with every storyline.

The show opens with Michael and Madeline at Michael’s father’s grave site. Michael learned in the last episode that Anson (the head of the spy unit that burned Michael), had Frank killed because he started getting too nosy about Anson’s interest in Michael. Though Madeline doesn’t know this as a fact, she guesses that Anson was the cause of Frank’s death and implores Michael to do anything he can to stop Anson from ruining any more lives.

When Michael meets up with Fiona, she has some news: she thinks she found something they can use against Anson. Fi found that Anson’s “untraceable” money was able to be tracked. So she and Michael head to Washington, D.C. where they infiltrate a law firm where Anson has apparently been wiring money. While sifting through files, Fiona comes across an active file with numbers they cannot even begin to guess the meaning of from a familiar face – Vaughn – the man they sent to jail for life. Tricky.
