Law and Order: SVU “Father’s Shadow” Review

It must be hard for Olivia having to constantly tell strangers about her father, the rapist. "Father’s Shadow," this week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU, was yet another example of how often her lifestory mirrors her work in the Special Victims Unit…and how, despite having to tell the story of her mother’s rape to every other victim…it still somehow chokes her up.

The case this week was very straight-forward. A sleezy reality show producer drugs and rapes girls who come in to audition for him, sending them home with no memory of the event. At least until one of them ends up in Central Park, unconscious and being violated by yet another NYC pervert. SVU steps in and quickly apprehends the jerk, literally as he’s attacking another victim (played by country singer Miranda Lambert, in an inexplicable cameo.) Read More...
