It was either a massive case of cosmic karma, or just bad luck on "Survivor: One World" (Wed., 8 p.m. ET on CBS), but it ushered in an unorthodox episode of the reality staple and changed everything about the game that was being played. One of the most powerful players in the game wound up out of it, and they took their "ball" home with them, so to speak.
Or at least that's what the other tribe was told. Even the viewing audience at home isn't sure if Colton took that Immunity Idol home with him or not. That's right, it was this season's bad, bad boy who suddenly started feeling bad, bad. Bad enough to get medically evacuated under fear of appendicitis. And that was all she wrote for him.
It's a game changer because love him or hate him, Colton was running the game. He'd already orchestrated one tribe to give away tribal immunity to get rid of someone he didn't like, and then picked off his next threat after a tribal shake-up last week. On the chopping block this week was Christina, and Colton and his ally Alicia were making sure she felt it.
It was beginning to rub some of the other people the wrong way just how horribly they were treating her -- it was a very immature and childish thing to do. But fans will never get to know if their bad behavior would have cost them the game, because Colton's removal was only the first major change of the night.
Tree mail called everyone to Tribal Council where they were announced merged already. With twelve people still in the game, it's certainly unexpected. The gender divide is now equal again, though, so it should be interesting to see what alliances emerge, which ones are destroyed and whether Christina is really the next one to go, as she was promised.
