'Smash' renewed for second season, can 'Awake' also make the cut?

NBC is renewing musical drama "Smash" for a second season, after the show has averaged 7.7 million viewers and a 2.6 18-49 demo rating. "Smash" joins "Grimm" as the second freshman NBC drama to get a renewal this year.But can fellow newbie "Awake" join its ranks?It seems that renewals aren't all about ratings anymore, as things like production cost, syndication probability, and streaming presence on multi-platforms are all becoming more important.
