'The Vampire Diaries' Season 3 finale: Elena rocks a cheerleading uniform and evil Alaric wreaks havoc


"Vampire Diaries" season finales have never disappointed us, but this year's season-ender is arguably the most ambitious episode the series has ever done -- and not just because it includes a harrowing (and expensive) underwater sequence.The gang is dealing with the most troublesome kind of villain: the kind who used to be a hero. Evil Alaric knows all of our protagonists very well, which gives him an advantage that previous baddies didn't have. We're not entirely sure what he's doing in the storage facility, but judging by the look on his evil, evil face, he's not too happy to be there.Of course, we're particularly excited for the return of Sara Canning as Aunt Jenna. In flashback scenes, we'll have the opportunity to see what Jenna was like before she had to take on the responsibility of her sister's two teenage kids. Those flashback scenes also remind us that Elena wasn't always the broody angst-fest that...
