Mad Men “Commissions and Fees” Review

With Matthew Weiner taking a page out of the Joss Whedon Handbook for the Disposal of (Mostly) Beloved Characters, one of the SCDP partners of Mad Men didn’t make it out of this week’s episode, "Commissions and Fees" alive.

We all knew that Lane Pryce was heading down a dark path when he borrowed/embezzeled eight thousand dollars from the firm and forged Don’s name on the check. But thanks to a billing issue with Jaguar, the records were investigated before he had time to cover his tracks. When Don found out, he did the only thing he thought he could: he called Lane into his office, poured him a drink and fired him. It was a painful scene, but so brilliantly executed. Read more...
