bad links

I often find that people put up bad links.

I have noticed that megavideo epically is becoming a very unreliable source. Is it just me or does the sound get out of sync with the movement for everyone?

Should we ban links that require you to sine up for services, such as zango and should we ban multipall listings of the same link for the same show?

Yes, the sound on Megavideo does get out of sync with the movement for me too!! It is so annoying.. especialy when almost all of the links direct you to a megavideo video box..

I find that megavideo sources that are split into two parts are perfect, but anything over 30 minutes and the sound gets way out of sync.

I find that multiple sites have the exact same link. Is this on purpose? When it says 12 links for a show its pretty misleading when those 12 links direct you to the same site. i.e. megavideo And yes, megavideo does tend to go out of sinc. Its quite annoying when it tells you that cant watch the show bc you have been watching 99 min of video... like whos counting? And do you really have to wait 88 min to watch it?

The reason the audio/video goes out of sync is that most people upload files encoded using vbr (variable bitrate). I have found if you upload cbr (constant bitrate) encoded files megavideo handles them fine. Other sites can also have trouble with vbr files too.

there are enough sites that do not use zango or surveys, I say we get rid of all those that do. I get enough spam without giving more info or installing spyware

Forced gateway's are crap. Sidereel is a database with links for tv shows, not with links for spam signup and survey links. If the sites can't survive for 'free' without 'forcing' people to jump through all sorts of hoops, perhaps they should just quit.

because with that email address, you'll get tons of spam for years to come. And there are plenty of places to watch the shows online without that spam crap. Seems you don't realize that there are other ways to make a living.

These websites make almost no money on selling your email anywayalmost all of the revenue comes from advertisinghow do you think the internet giants make moneyyou don't have to sign up for fox or hulu's videos, the only problem is that everything only works in the US, which is extremely annoying for a US citizen living over seas.

Unless you use a US based proxy to watch it. :) (I'm also an American living overseas.) I'm all for deleting any site that wants you to install anything or fill out a survey. A site has a right to generate revenue, but many of them do so by utilizing advertising. And to me, anything that requires a download is suspect; god only knows what you're actually installing and what kind of information they're gleaning from you. The sound on megavideo has been screwed up for me too. If I can watch it at an alternate source, I do. I also think it's silly to have a zillion links all pointing at the same source video. And lastly, does anyone know what's going on with megavideo? Are they going to be a paid-subscription-only site? Because sometimes I get the time limit and directions on how to send them money to watch more grainy, out of synch videos, and sometimes I don't.

A really good link is the one that sends you to Supernovatv. I think thats it. Anyway they always have reliable episodes and the fullscreen works for me, which stopped working on reph and kumfumble.

Easiest way to find those type of links is to search for the name of the episode or movie +supernova (e.g., "Timecop" +"supernova"). If you find one, add the link, or submit it if the page is locked. It's simple and it helps a lot. 8)
