After a season of progress under the care of Dani, TK faced a major setback in last season's finale of "Necessary Roughness" (Wed., 10 p.m. ET on USA). In fact, he faced an assassin's bullet. But did anyone really think he would die? That mystery was solved quickly, as TK is alive if not necessarily well in the second season premiere.
Six weeks later, TK is of course ready to clear himself, and the team is more than ready to welcome him back with open arms. But at a promotional event, Dani is proven right -- when is she not right? -- as TK is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. In his PTSD-deluded state, he thinks he sees the gunman in the crowd and goes for his own gun.
That could have been a horrific disaster, so thankfully Nico was on hand to keep TK from firing into a crowd of Hawk's fans. That would have probably ended his career right there. As it is, he seems to have regressed some of the progress, but that's the nature with these kinds of shows. Forward momentum must happen as slowly as possible.
Dani and Matt continue to canoodle, while Marshall Pittman finally got some screen time, and a face to go along with it. His divorce is likely to shake things up for the whole team, creating even more drama for both TK and Dani to contend with.
"Necessary Roughness" continues Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
