The Gates- What Lies Beneath Review

I know. I know.... I'm trying to catch up. Work does get a toll of me. And I don't live in the Gates so I'm not safe...from tiredom and busy-ness that is.

Anyhow, I'm giving this episode a 3 out of 5.

Yup.

Sadly, this show doesn't live up to my expectations. However, I'm still watching it because Luke Mabley is just cute to look at whereas Rhona Mitra is just sexy. And their accents just make them even hotter.

OKay, sorry about being a shallow girl.

Back to the story. It's ridiculous! Then again it is a science fiction story focusing vampires and witches, and succubus and wolves so ridiculous is pretty implied. Not to fret, I've had a history of loving Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, and related shows. The problem is they are trying to intertwine a whole lot of characters at a time. This week some teenage boy's angry is introduced and he may or may not have something to do with the ex-chief-of-police's death. Then we find out that the current chief's son's girl is a succubus. Then there's drama between the Radcliffe and the girl from the Spa.

There's just simply a lot going on and I'm missing some continuity with it. To simply put it, it's like a bad case of Desperate Housewives meet Charmed meet Buffy the Vampire slayer.

I'm really really hoping something interesting would develop next episode enough to make the story compelling and not a bad science fiction case.

So here's to something better BENEATH their lack of luster. CHEERS!
