‘Copper,’ Season 1, Episode 3, ‘In the Hands of an Angry God’: TV Recap

This week takes on the racial tension in Five Points that has been simmering just under the surface of the past two episodes. The coppers are concerned about riots breaking out when it appears that an Irish man was lynched and a black reverend is the main suspect. The case falls into the hands of Corcaran, who at least wants to make sure the reverend is guilty before the police let the mob hang him, and Dr. Freeman, who wants to prove his friend is innocent before the crowd dispenses its own justice.
