Breaking Bad: "Gliding Over All" Review

Let’s start with a soft disclaimer: to be fair to Breaking Bad, this wasn’t the true season finale. This was the end of the first half of the final season. This episode was more of a bridge towards the season (and in this case, series) finale, just as every episode before it this season was too. There wasn’t supposed to be any hard resolution and it would be unfair for us to expect that.

OK, let’s get into it.

This show has such a great long-term memory. Reusing that painting from the Season 2 episode when Walt was getting his chemo -- one of the great moments in the show that humanized Walt -- as a reminder of how his world view has changed was the detail this show needed right now. Then they brought back going to the doctor’s office for a check-up (hey, do you think the cancer's back?), the fly, the Heisenberg hat, the Walt Whitman stuff, and it was all just the tiniest bit re-humanizing throughout the episode.
