NCIS: Los Angeles Season 4 Review “The Fifth Man” – Little Girl Lost

In this episode of NCIS: Los Angeles, called “The Fifth Man,” the team searches for a missing video gamer and Kensi finds a kindred spirit.

The previews for this episode were very clever in that (at least the ones I saw) never hinted at what became the best part of the story for me. I knew that the team was going to be searching for a video gamer, but instead of finding the “fifth man” they ended up finding a young girl. Astrid was definitely an interesting character, not only because of her intelligence and mental issues, but because of what she represented for Kensi. Having lost her father at a young age, Kensi took to the streets for a while and understood some of the struggles that Astrid was going through at a deep level. I liked the connection we saw between them and also what that connection brought out in Deeks. It showed again how well he and Kensi have grown to know each other that he was aware of what was going on, and knew when he should just step back out of the way and offer his support of Kensi from a distance.
