Friday Night Dinner Series 2 Review “The Mouse”

The second series of Friday Night Dinner is nearing its end, and this is apparently the perfect time to bring Jim around for an evening meal. I’ve complained about Jim becoming a more central character this series, possibly dampening his comedic value, but ‘The Mouse’ is an example of a good idea executed really well.

For starters, there is only one storyline this week when I’ve felt previous episodes in series two have dealt with far too much at once. It’s been a bit mad, in fact, and I enjoyed this week’s madcap simplicity. Action runs entirely around Jim as he electrocutes himself on at his neighbor’s work-in-progress house. With Jackie giving him mouth to mouth, it’s not an entirely unpleasant experience for him, and they decide to invite him for Friday night dinner as a peace offering. Read More...
