My apologies that this review is going up nearly a week after the episode aired. I was out of town when this episode of Last Resort aired and thought I might just skip this review, but then I saw this episode and damn, it was a great one I had to chime in on, at least briefly.

What a compelling and terrifying scenario the writers concocted here. The idea of Pakistanis taking the boat holding the Colorado’s visiting family members hostage could have felt silly, but once people actually began getting shot and killed, it turned very tense and wrenching. It did feel odd to -- as far as we could tell -- not see a specific crewmember react to their own family member being killed, given several people were shot on that boat. We saw the Colorado crew all watching in horror, but didn’t really get that personal impact, even from a crewmember we don’t know. But obviously Sam’s concern over Christine fueled the entire thing and the overall scenario was incredibly effective. Read More...
