Ostensibly, the major plot point of "In Memoriam," the penultimate episode of Homeland's second season, is the death of Abu Nazir. But really, that was a foregone conclusion, wasn't it? Once Nazir stepped foot on American soil -- and into 24-esque thriller-vision TV -- his death by the end of Season 2 was a certainty.

There's something more compelling percolating beneath the surface of this episode, however, and that's Carrie's complicity in the death of President Walden from last week. She knows what Brody did, in conjunction with Nazir, to off their hated foe, but when she had the chance to tell her colleagues the full story of how she escaped, Carrie instead opted to cover for her beloved Brody... thereby making her an accessory to the crime.
