I missed Olivia. Even though she was present in every episode this season, she didn't have much to do. Far too often she was just an accessory to the other major events that were going on. But as the second half of Fringe's final season kicks off, Olivia is back to her old badassery. It's a good thing.

But before Olivia got her groove back, we had to return to the Peter-as-Observer arc that has been the recent focus of the series. The opening gives us a little cat and mouse game between Peter and Windmark which seemed like it lead would to something revealing, but it doesn't really amount to much initially. The first few minutes are essentially setup for later events, which is quite a departure from Fringe's usual formula which leads with some kind of suspenseful, creepy, or shocking events.
