The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Review “O Come, All Ye Faithful” — Festive Cheer, Mystic Falls Style

In The Vampire Diaries, nothing says Christmas cheer like slaughter and heartbreak. ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ saw the culmination of Hayley’s plot to un-sire and hand over 12 hybrids for Shane’s nefarious purposes, Jeremy being taught a way around his murderous feelings for Elena, and Damon finally letting Elena go free.

The whole hybrid plot got a bit confusing for a moment there. Tyler thought the plan was for him to switch bodies with Klaus — his own body (filled with Klaus’ soul) being buried under cement — toallow the hybrids their freedom. Hayley and Shane’s plan was for him to be part of the 12 hybrids lured to their deaths. In the end, Hayley told Tyler about the hybrids inevitable demise and he arrived afterKlaus had slaughtered them. Since Tyler survived, that was only 11 deaths, right?
