MTV has announced that its pseudo-reality drama is ready to premiere its new season in a few months, much to the delight of fans. The Hills will return on September 29 at 10pm, bringing several changes that most viewers already know about. There's the obvious absence of Lauren Conrad, the appearance of Kristin Cavallari and the much-discussed Speidi nuptials.
Even though there's one original Hills cast member missing, there's plenty of drama to fill in the gaps. Co-star Holly Montag has described Cavallari's entrance as something of a "whirlwind" in which they'll all get caught up in.
MTV News reports that Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, Heidi Montag and husband Spencer Pratt will inevitably get tangled up in the newcomer's web. Fortunately for them, one of the Hills cast members is already excited at the new twists.
Spencer Pratt, famous for his attempts to be famous and for a stint on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, discussed the arrival of Kristin Cavallari with the network. He's definitely welcoming that hurricane with open arms.
"There wouldn't be a Hills if there wasn't a Kristin Cavallari, because the Laguna Beach brand wouldn't have had the power," Spencer Pratt told MTV News. "We still love Lauren, we'd love to have you come back on the show. But hey, you were the calm, quiet girl trying to steal Kristin's boyfriend, the cool girl at the high school. So shout-out to the cool girl joining The Hills!"
As for Kristin Cavallari herself, she knows this is the best opportunity to return to a reality TV career. With the premiere of the series' new season, she's certainly happy at the chance.
"I just thought, what was the point of going on The Hills when it was Lauren's show and all it would really do is relive high school drama, which was Laguna Beach," Cavallari told the network back in May. "So I thought with Lauren leaving, it's kind of the perfect time."
