'The Voice': Sasha Allen goes from backup singer to star

"The Voice" continues its tradition of giving backup singers their opportunity to grab at the spotlight with the introduction of Sasha Allen, a mother of two who put her career on hold to raise her family.Before taking the stage, Sasha revealed that she was a classically trained pianist whose mom took her to clubs to learn how to sing. Apparently, it did wonders because the 30-year-old had previously sang backup vocals for John Legend, Alicia Keys, and "The Voice"s very own Christina Aguilera.She took to the stage with an unbelievably soulful performance of the Dixie Chick's "Not Ready To Make Nice." Maybe the fact that her young children and fiance weren't able to travel to Los Angeles with her provided the necessary emotional push because there was something so beautifully melancholic in her audition.
