'The Fosters' casting scoop: Lorraine Toussaint joins upcoming ABC Family series

When "The Fosters" premieres on ABC Family this summer, another familiar face will be in the mix.Zap2It has exclusively learned that Lorraine Toussaint ("Friday Night Lights," "Saving Grace") has been cast in the recurring role of Carol, mother of Lena Adams (Sherri Saum, "In Treatment"). Carol is described as a charismatic African-American woman who is a professor of Black Women's Studies at Berkeley and enjoys the spotlight. This being an ABC Family series, of course there is some friction between her and her daughter."The Fosters" tells the story of a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two lesbian mothers, the aforementioned Lena and Stef Foster (Teri Polo, "Meet the Parents"). The cast also includes Jake T.
