Criminal Minds Season 8 Review “No. 6?

With most of the other series on TV coming to the end of their season, Criminal Minds still has three new episodes to air before the conclusion of season eight. There are two more episodes after tonight’s "No. 6?, and judging by their titles it sounds like they’re both going to be more serialized than tonight’s installment. For that reason, I wasn’t very excited for this episode. Judging simply by CBS’ previews and the scenes from last week, it seemed like another run-of-the-mill standalone episode. Did it surpass my expectations or not? Read on to find out! Before we actually got to the case of the week, we had a quick little scene at the beginning that introduced us to Alex’s husband James, played by D.W. Moffett who you might recognize from currently starring in ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. I have a hard time liking this guy, though, simply because I absolutely hated his character Joe McCoy from Friday Night Lights. Anyway, it was interesting to hear that he’s secured a job offer for her at Harvard, since Jeanne Tripplehorn is one of the only members of the cast who did not sign a new contract with CBS for season nine. It’s entirely possible that she changes her mind and decides to leave for Harvard, or they could find some other way to write her off the show. She still hasn’t made a very big impact on me, and it’s been a whole season now. READ MORE...
