Love and Marriage Series 1 Episode 2 (ITV) Review

We were led to believe that Love and Marriage would be focusing on Paradise matriarch Pauline as she navigated her way through single life after decades trapped in a loveless marriage, but this second episode shifts that focus onto daughter Heather, whose own relationship is on shaky ground. Last week, I was impressed by the series’ willingness to put older actresses at the fore, exploring issues that crop up later in life but don’t often get an airing on primetime telly. This second episode continues to follow Pauline’s re-entry into the dating scene, but the focus on another characters allowed for a more entertaining hour and much more emotional resonance by the end.
