Charlie???

Can some one please explain how charlie is back in this episode? Was it maybe filmed before he died and they are recycling unaired episodes or did I miss an episode that brought him back (unlikely because my pvr records every episode)

Please help/ explain.......

wow. I was shocked to see Charlie in this episode. I thought I click into season 1. Yes, I agreed that it's a unaired episode.

According to Fox, the newest episode "Unearthed" is not a "new" episode at all but a "lost" episode that never aired. Since Charlie Francis is alive in this episode, everyone is assuming that this "lost" episode fits in with the timeline of season 1. There has been no explanation as to why this episode was never aired, but rumors suggest it has been dug up to go head to head against NBC's show Heroes, which is Fringe's timeslot rival.

wikipedia says its an unaired ep from season 1 that they carried over.

Yeah, I was so totally confused about Charlie. I thought that just Olivia saw him at first but then other people started reacting to him or looking at him or talking to him. So yeah, I agree that it was probably just a filler. But I'm pretty sure it's NOT an alternate reality episode. But that's a whole other theory I've been working on. :} And I'd rather not spoil it for other people.

No matter what... too weird. I got SO confused when I saw him walking through the office.

@allison.jones - can't be episode from the other universe bc there is no Peter in that universe. Must be a filler. Would think they could have just cut the scenes with Charlie.

.... maybe oliva sees him in her mind only or something. but more likely the network put on an unaired episode to try and drag things out a little and forgot about continuity. odd though.

@ PerplexedRapture- there was an episode of "The Unit" that was like this sort of- one of the guys' (Scott Foley actually) wives had a dream that involved some top secret mission details and got herself arrested when she was overheard recounting it to her friends- it ended up being some "shared stream of consciousness" or something...

Answer to all our questions is here: I guess it is an unaired episode or "lost episode" from season 1. As long as they didnt just randomly bring him back I'm happy. lol

I found an article online from January 4th that says Fox announced that they were releasing an unaired episode that can either be from Season 1 or from the alternate universe..so it's not from Season 2. My question is..why does this episode look so familiar? Was there an episode similar to this where something happened to someone else that made them blurt out top secret information? i think there was some episode that lead to some kind of russian spy stuff before..something with sleeper cells, right? I am thinking of Fringe, aren't I?

I read a while ago that there was an unaired season 1 ep that they were gonna air this month. So that's probably the episode I read about and explains why Charlie is alive and kicking.

it's sad that the network made such a huge mistake

It must be an unaired episode, although this has happened at least one time in J.J. Abrams show, Felicity. Her best friend died in a car crash. Then Megan, or someone casted a spell to help Felicity travel back in time. Remember Ben had cheated on her, so she decided she needed to back far enough so she could be with Noel instead. Anyway when she came back to her present time and space her best friend was alive again. The last season of that show was kind of crazy. So hopefully it's just an unaired episode, but they should explain to us what's going on.

My guess is it was a "Filler". The story had no effect on mail story lines.unless of course, they snatched him from another world ...and forgot to tell us ..

I am pretty sure it is a recycled unaired episode. It is a filler episode so they could place it anywhere. Maybe they just did not realize. . .

I know right... Its like they think we all just forgot he died and considering this was one of the most talked about events on the show it doesnt seem likely. Ugh!

this has been driving me crazy!
