THE BRIDGE: "RIO" REVIEW

Three episodes in, we’re still trying to get a feel for the show. Is this Wire-style world building? Is it a grisly serial killer mystery? Is it a soap opera? It matters because what the show is affects how we watch it. If it’s aspiring to reach the heights of the best television out there, then we won’t be as tolerant of characters making dumb, plot-driven decisions. If it’s serial killer territory or soap opera we’ll tolerate a lot of holes to get the shocking moments we’re there for.
