'Parenthood' books another 'Friday Night Lights' alum

It's always nice to see some familiar faces from one beloved show pop up on another beloved show. Jason Katims is no stranger to bringing "Friday Nights Lights" alumni to his NBC drama "Parenthood," with Jurnee Smollett joining the fold for Season 5. TV Line reports that Smollett will have a major recurring role for the upcoming full season, playing Heather Hall, a smart, up-and-coming political operative who is hired by Kristina Braverman to be her campaign manager. Kristina running for political office is a major Season 5 storyline, in case you hadn't heard. We would imagine after beating cancer, the political arena will be a piece of cake. "Parenthood" returns to NBC on Thursday, Sept. 26....
