Limp Box-Office Debut for Amanda Seyfried in 'Lovelace'

"Lovelace," the biopic based on the star of the iconic porn film "Deep Throat," brought in a disappointing $184,000 in its limited 118-location theatrical debut.

That's an underwhelming $1,561 per-screen average for the movie, which stars Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace and also featured Peter Sarsgaard.

"Lovelace" had to withstand an 11th-hour legal bid by Arrow Productions, the company that owns the right to "Deep Throat," to block its release.
