'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' and 'The League' make solid debuts on FXX

The first night of original programming on FXX was a pretty good one. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "The League" began life on their new channel by retaining most of the audience they had on FX."Sunny" opened its ninth season to a total audience of 757,000 people. That's down about 28 percent from 1.05 million for its Season 8 premiere in October 2012. FXX is in about 73 percent as many homes as FX is, so the drop is pretty much in line with its smaller subscriber base.The shows' demographic numbers are a little, uh, sunnier: The show retained 80 percent of the 18-49 viewers from the Season 8 premiere (648,000 vs. 809,000) and 85 percent of the 18-34 audience (527,000 vs. 622,000).
