'Million Second Quiz' premiere: Better bone up on your current events

NBC debuted its new game show event, "Million Second Quiz," Monday night (Sept. 9). The game, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, features someone holding the "money chair." This person must face all comers and continue to hold the money chair in order to be eligible for the money. The show will be going on 24 hours a day for a million seconds, or roughly 11.5 days. At the end of that span, the four players in "winners' row," or the four players who held the money chair the longest (and therefore have the most money, because contestants earn $10 per second in the chair) will win the money they earned for their time in the chair and then battle it out for an additional $2 million.
