As mentioned in my Dexter endgame video chat with IGN TV Executive Editor Eric Goldman (see below), the fact that Showtime refused to release advance screeners to critics for the final three episodes gave me hope that huge, world-shattering things would happen. Showtime is pretty good with offering press screeners, but previously, they actively chose not to release Season 6's "Get Gellar" - the one with the Olmos twist. Then it was the Season 6 and 7 finales, which both had big endings. So not releasing all three of these final installments meant that shocking things could happen.
