TV ratings: 'The Voice' and 'The Blacklist' score for NBC Monday, 'Mom' and 'Hostages' underwhelm

Fast National ratings for Monday, Sept. 23, 2013The first official, Nielsen-measured night of the 2013-14 TV season belonged to NBC. "The Voice" premiere improved on the debut ratings for both of last season's cycles, and "The Blacklist" easily led its hour among adults 18-49. The latter opened slightly below "Revolution" last year, but "Revolution" also debuted against lighter competition.The news was less good for CBS Monday. "How I Met Your Mother" improved on last season's premiere, but "2 Broke Girls" was down a good amount. That led to new shows "Mom" and "Hostages" both posting underwhelming ratings. ABC's "Castle" was up a little over its 2012 premiere, while "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow" each fell a bit against the heavier competition.NBC led the night with just under 14 million viewers and an 8.3 rating/13 share in households. ABC (12.7 million, 8.3/13) came in second overall. CBS (8.3 million, 5.3/8) beat out FOX (7.6 million) for third....
