TV ratings: 'Modern Family' premiere down a bunch but still tops Wednesday, 'SVU' premiere rises

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2013"Modern Family" reclaimed its spot at Wednesday's top show among adults 18-49, but its Season 5 premiere was down significantly from last year's debut. That was pretty much the theme of the night: The premieres of nearly every returning show came in below their debuts last year. The lone exception was "Law & Order: SVU," which paid off last season's finale cliffhanger and rose significantly over its 2012 premiere."Modern Family" fell by close to 3 million viewers and more than a point among adults 18-49 vs. last year. "The Middle" and "Nashville" were also off for ABC. New comedy "Back in the Game" pulled OK numbers for its debut, holding most of its lead-in. "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" were each down a little from a year ago for CBS, and NBC's "Revolution" predictably took a big hit compared to last year's "Voice"-aided premiere.
